Health and Care Resources

At The Gardens of Peterborough, we provide unparalleled "Care" services to the older adults who call our communities home. At The Gardens, we care for the whole individual—mind, body and spirit—through an experienced team of qualified professionals. An individual Care plan is determined for each of our residents by our multi-disciplinary Care team. Incorporating resident needs and desires, these plans include Medical Care, Fitness and Wellness, Nutritional Care and Social and Spiritual Care.

A Comprehensive Approach to Care
At The Gardens of Peterborough, Nursing Care is provided by registered nursing staff who are on-site around the clock, and who take the worry out of everyday living. Our nurses will carry out medically ordered services while providing the care and supervision offered by professional nurses 24 hours a day. With state-of-the-art emergency response systems in each suite, assistance is always just around the corner. Doctor's clinics are held on-site, and our air-conditioned bus makes scheduled trips to local doctors' offices. For special care needs we offer our "Enriched Care®" Assisted Living program which offers extra care services for those who require a helping hand with daily living activities. We provide assistance in medication administration, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and oxygen therapy. Pharmacy services are also provided on-site.

Nutritional Care at The Gardens is provided by trained dietary staff who ensure that delicious, well-balanced meals keep our residents healthy and energized. Our tailored meal plans incorporate special needs such as diabetic and dysphasia diets, as well as texture modifications. Visit our Nutritional Care section to learn more.

Foot Care at The Gardens of Peterborough is provided by a certified foot care nurse who is a member of our staff. Basic and advanced foot care is available after a thorough assessment by the professional in this field.

Proper footcare is a lifestyle decision that supports individual wellness and prevents future problems. And it actually feels great.

Additionally we will complete and submit all required government forms for veterans. Professional fees only apply.

Physiotherapy Programs are provided right on-site to improve our residents' quality of life. For increased strength and mobility, pain management, or to speed recovery after surgery, our physiotherapy programs may be just what the doctor ordered.

Fitness & Wellness programs maintain and enhance the well being and independence of our residents. We provide special clinics and a variety of fitness and activation programs. Explore our Fitness & Wellness section to find out how we can help you maintain the strength and energy you need to stay healthy and independent.

At The Gardens, enhancing overall wellness includes ensuring that our residents' Social and Spiritual Care needs are met. Our full-time Activity Directors plan frequent outings and regular activities to provide residents with the mental and social stimulation. Spiritual needs are accommodated in our on-site chapels, in which regularly scheduled services are conducted by local clergy.

Short Term Visits
Our unmatched care services are available whether you choose to call our communities home on a permanent basis, or whether you visit us for a short period for a trial or to provide a little help at special times. This includes both Convalescence Care for those recovering from hospital procedures and Respite Care for loved ones whose caregivers require a little break from the stresses of growing responsibilities. Visit our Trial & Respite Stays section to learn more.
